Welcome
I was born in Lucerne and grew up in Italy (Rome) and in Zuoz (Grisons).
After the Matura I studied medicine in Basel (1993-1999) and received my doctorate at the University of Zurich in 2001.
In the same year I completed a postgraduate course in human nutrition at the ETH (FIT) Zurich; in 2008 I obtained the Master of Public Health at the Swiss School of Public Health.
My habilitation followed in 2010, the (specialist) FMH in Prevention and Public Health in 2012.
Since November 2017 I have a professor title at the University of Zurich.
Between 2000 and 2002 I worked for various NGOs in the field of prevention.
From 2003 to 2006, I did research at the Institute of Physiology and the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Lausanne and worked clinically as a physician at the university hospital (CHUV), always with a focus on nutrition, metabolism and weight management.
Between 2006 and 2015 I worked at the Institute of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention at the University of Zurich as a scientist, while also working as a practicing physician.
In 2012 I founded my own company for which I provide consulting services and publish various contents.
Since 2015 I have been working mainly as a lecturer at the Bern University of Applied Sciences for the study program Nutrition and Dietetics.
